The Mission

Welcome one and all to Symbiant Designs new website, your source for all things symbiant.  Symbiant Designs is the creative collaboration between Rob Blaich and Matt Lytwyn to provide motion graphics, video editing, photography, posters, invites, websites, and a logo for your own business. Together they provide a unique look at how media design should be for the current century of companies and events. But enough of the company itself and more about the minds behind the madness…

The Team

It’s a common trend to give a short bio these days on portfolio sites – and with good reason too! If I’m going to work closely with someone for a while, and pay them the big bucks, I’d like to know just who they are, and what their credentials are!

Rob

Rob is a Red River College honors graduate of Digital Multimedia Technology (DMT) trained in 3D animation, web design, video production, graphic design, and photography. Upon graduation he was awarded the DMT Award of Excellence, which simply said, “If you were to hire any one of the students, hire this one”. Shortly after graduating, he began applying his expertise at St. Boniface Hospital Research where he currently is employed.

Rob’s ability to multitask and ensure that each project has a unique flair can been seen on a daily basis. One moment Rob is working on a website, and the next, he’s shooting footage to be used in a video using all the skills he learned at DMT.

When he’s not busy attacking computers with his creative mind, you’ll catch him either behind his DSLR camera, gaming on Playstation 3, riding his mountain bike, or spending quality time with his wife and daughter.

 

 

 

 

Matt

Matt is an anomaly in the many worlds that he dabbles in never following the normal routes to a mean. His education with graphics design has been self-taught or through mentorships from various skilled professional including his co-partner, Rob. But it is his determination and passion to ensure that his work is unique and attractive has made him one of the most sought after graphic design artists in the scientific field.

Matt is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science majoring in Microbiology at the University of Manitoba. His love of graphic design, artwork and science is what strived him to co-create Symbiant Designs. His work, both scientific and graphic, has been seen and presented on a global level. He is currently employed at St. Boniface Hospital Research with Rob as a research associate/undergraduate student/graphic design artist in the non-invasive cardiovascular imaging lab.

When not hammering away at books, looking through microscopes, reading about heart functions, or turning people into demons in photoshop, Matt can be found pulling wrench’s on his pride and joy, a 1966 Ford Mustang, destroying Rob at online gaming on Playstation 3, relaxing, or catching up on much needed sleep.

Together this odd duo makes up Symbiant Designs. Their unique approach’s and backgrounds allows for work to be produced that typical design companies could not fathom.

 

 

 

 

Danielle

Danielle is full time insurance broker with a CAIB designation, and has recently become a full time mom as well. But during her breaks between the two, she loves arts and crafts, including invitations and cards. Her new found love, a Cricut, has opened her up to even more possibilities then before, and can create some creative and amazing work.

She is also known for her fantastic organizational skills – which made her the perfect choice to keep Matt and Rob in check.
